PPPCS Polar Explorers Program

The PPPCS Polar Explorers Program combines hands-on STEM learning with climate and conservation science while amplifying the contributions of women and BIPOC communities in polar exploration and research. This interdisciplinary, year-long course culminates in a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Antarctica aboard the National Geographic Explorer, where students will learn from expert field staff and experience one of Earth's most critical and awe-inspiring ecosystems. With support from WesbyOne Media, students will document their journey in a short film, premiering at the Maryland Zoo’s Party for the Planet to inspire the next generation of changemakers and environmental stewards.
