Now Hiring: Teachers for New Elementary Charter School

Baltimore’s Patterson Park Public Charter School seeks innovative, creative, community-minded teachers to staff its K to 5th grade classes.

Patterson Park Public Charter School, which will eventually serve students through the 8th grade, aims to offer students high-quality, community-based education and to provide teachers and administrators the freedom to put their creativity and knowledge to work in an environment committed to collaboration and teacher initiative. Interactive, project-based curriculum, and the involvement of the community are among the school’s offerings.

Housed in a newly-renovated facility across from a large urban park, the school is minutes from downtown Baltimore and blocks from the harbor in historic Fells Point. Drawing from all of the neighborhoods that border the park, the student base for the school is genuinely diverse, socioeconomically, culturally, and racially.

Patterson Park Public Charter School is a tuition-free school open to residents of Baltimore City. As a charter school, it operates with some curricular and administrative independence from the public school system. Teachers of the Patterson Park Public Charter School will be employees of the Baltimore Public School System and must become certified by that State of Maryland.
