At the core of Patterson Park Public Charter School's educational philosophy, we believe students with involved families will succeed in school, college, careers, and life overall. An involved family builds an irreplaceable support system, that all children need throughout their development. From the start of their journey at Patterson Park Public Charter School, families are involved. Families make a conscious choice to send their child to Patterson Park Public Charter School, and families commit to remaining involved in their student's education through our Parent Volunteer Program.
Hands On Patterson Park Public (HOPPP) is Patterson Park Public Charter School's organized parent organization. HOPPP connects family members with each other through initiating social and fundraising opportunities, and it connects families with the school through volunteer opportunities and information sharing. HOPPP meets monthly during the school year and encourages active participation through leadership positions, volunteering efforts, family-focused events and fundraisers. Meeting and event schedules are released at the beginning of each school year. Light breakfast fare is provided at all HOPPP meetings and families receive two volunteer hours for attending. Simultaneous Spanish translation is provided as well as childcare. For HOPPP questions and comments, please email . Check for updates at HOPPP's facebook page.
Patterson Park Public Charter School knows that our students' and families' needs sometimes go beyond what schools offer in the 7:50-2:40 school day. To fulfill more of the needs of our students, Patterson Park Public Charter School connects families with community resources. As a Community School, we build formal relationships with local organizations to enhance the educational experience here, but we also help families in crisis and hardship find help they need.
