Uniform Policy

An important component of our school environment is the school uniform. Students are expected to comply with the school’s uniform policy by dressing appropriately for each school day. We ask parents to cooperate with us by knowing Patterson Park Public Charter School’s uniform policy and by enforcing it with their children.

As part of homeroom procedures, homeroom teachers will monitor student dress. If a student is determined to be inappropriately dressed, an “out of uniform” notice will be issued to the student and his/her parents. Three “unexcused” out of uniform notices will result in disciplinary action.

Boys (Grades K-8)

Clean navy blue trousers
Dark belt with inconspicuous buckle
Light blue shirt
Solid navy or white socks
Solid white undershirt (if worn)
Dress shoes (not canvas)

Reminders:

  • Belts must be worn with pants with belt loops
  • Pants can be no larger than 1 measured size
  • No bracelets, necklaces or earrings

Optional

Solid Navy blue cardigan sweater
PPPCS sweatshirt and/or PPPCS t-shirt

 

Girls (Grades K-5)

Plaid jumpers
Light blue shirts (unisex)
Navy blue or white socks OR navy blue or white tights
Dress shoes (not canvas)
No high heels (greater than 1 inch) or canvas shoes

Reminders:

  • Hemlines are to be at no more than 2 inches above the knee.
  • No nail polish, eye-make-up, dyed hair or other cosmetics.
  • No bracelets, necklaces, or dangling earring

Optional

Patterson Park Public Charter School has a Uniform Exchange where previously worn uniforms are turned in and can then be purchased for a reduced price. In addition, Patterson Park Public Charter School will make every effort to provide assistance to those that need help with purchasing uniforms.
